HOW CAN GEYSERVILLE FLOOD DURING THIS DROUGHT?

Come and find out next Tuesday, October 25th at the Geyserville Planning Committee Meeting. Starts at 7 pm, the Geyserville Fire Station.

Geyserville’s own Adriane Garayalde, Coordinator of the Russian River Confluence will answer that question and give a presentation on drainage issues in our town and how it relates to the Russian River.

Whenever we get a week’s worth of rain, our downtown floods, rendering the bridge impassable for days at a time. This is an annual event when the rains come and can leave anyone east of the river stranded. Adriane will explain the reasons for this and what the solutions are. She has been working on this issue for the past couple of years along with her ongoing work about the Russian River.

Adriane will be able to answer your questions about our town flooding issues and explain the various agencies involved, who need to work together in order to resolve it.

She will also be able to give us an update on Russian River erosion issues, specifically along River Road at the Munselle property. This is where without quick action on the part of the County, accelerated erosion could have resulted in the loss of the road, costing millions of dollars to detour.

Hope to see you Tuesday evening for this informative and very interesting presentation
