The Geyserville Planning Committee is proud to support the community by endorsing an impactful drive-thru food distribution program, offering essential assistance to those in need. This valuable initiative provides fresh produce, healthy groceries, and pantry staples, helping alleviate food insecurity within the community.
Here are important details you need to know about the program and how you can get involved:
Registration and waivers: All volunteers, including children, must register individually and sign a waiver before their shift. A guardian must accompany volunteers under the age of 18, and if volunteering without a guardian, prior approval is needed from both the guardian and Redwood Empire Food Bank staff.
Respectful environment: This program prioritizes respect, fairness, and kindness. Any negative remarks or harassment will not be tolerated. Civil Rights training is required for volunteers aged 18+.
Volunteer experience: The goal is to provide a great volunteering experience while addressing the community’s needs. Please review the Volunteer FAQ for further information. Volunteers should expect to lift 15-35 lbs and be on their feet during the entire shift.
Food assistance for volunteers: If you’re a volunteer in need of food assistance, please speak with the Site Coordinator.
Tech-savvy volunteers needed: Those skilled in technology can assist with W5 sign-in support.
Distribution Site Safety:
Arrive on time: Please be punctual for your volunteer shift and report to the Site Coordinator. Staff will discuss safety guidelines and assign tasks at the start of the shift.
Prepare for various tasks: This is a drive-thru distribution, so be prepared to load cars with food and assist with all aspects of the food distribution, including set-up and clean-up.
Dress appropriately: Wear brightly colored clothing or a safety vest, closed-toed shoes, and dress in layers. Don’t forget to bring water.
