At our March Meeting the Vineyard Valley View Property Owners raised the issue of the entire Geyserville community being reclassified by the CalFire maps as within the High Fire Hazard Severity Zone. Since then the GPC has been approached by numerous individuals to have Fire Chief Marshall Turbeville speak to, clarify and answer questions about this proposed change. He has agreed to be our guest speaker next Tuesday.
This change on the CalFire maps can have a far reaching impact on our community, particularly on the cost of insurance and the ability to obtain insurance. It would be difficult to sell residential or commercial property without adequate insurance or afford the cost of dramatic premium increases. This can affect the property values of everyone. We hope you will join us on Tuesday to hear Marshall address this issue.
