GEYSERVILLE PLANNING COMMITTEE

40TH ANNIVERSARY

ANNUAL TOWN HALL MEETING

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 26TH

6 PM RECEPTION – 7 PM MEETING

GEYSERVILLE HIGH SCHOOL

Forty years ago seven residents of Geyserville wanted to have more input into land use planning and the direction of development of our town and wrote the “Articles of Association”, which became the foundation and template of the Geyserville Planning Committee. This remarkable document, as viable today as when written, laid out the purpose and rules for the GPC. The “Articles” were then signed off on as a “Memorandum of Understanding” with the County Board of Supervisors, defining the relationship between the GPC and the County. You can see and read a copy of the “Articles of Association” here.

These seven individuals who came together as the original Geyserville Planning Committee were motivated by a sense of civic duty, volunteering their time and energy to make Geyserville the best it could be. They took on the role of an advisory body working with County agencies on community matters, including development, recreation, and beautification. The spirit of these seven men and women is the theme of this Annual Town Meeting celebrating the volunteers who make our community what it is today.

At this Town Hall Meeting, the GPC will acknowledge and recognize the people who for decades have volunteered their time and energy serving the various civic organizations and events that make our town the wonderful place it is. Hope you will join us on this night to honor the contributions of your friends and neighbors that have benefited all of us so much.

Special Guest Speaker: Supervisor James Gore
